EuRIC in a nutshell

Our business: Turning waste into new resources

EuRIC is the Confederation representing the interests of the European recycling industries. EuRIC brings together European and National recycling Associations from more than 19 EU and EFTA countries.

Our objective: Advocating recycling in Europe

The role of recycling is of paramount importance for the European economy, the environment and society. Recycling activities provide much needed jobs and investment while minimising environmental impacts. EuRIC advocates a smart regulatory framework fostering recycling across Europe and the competitiveness of the recycling industry.

Our Members represents on a European level:

  • 5,500 companies, including large companies and a vast number of SMEs, involved in the recycling and trade of various material streams and are thus key players in a circular economy;
  • More than 300,000 local jobs which cannot be outsourced outside Europe;
  • Million tonnes of a variety of materials recycled per year (metals, paper, plastics, glass and beyond);
  • An aggregated annual turnover of about 95 billion Euros.
